A short 30 second clip from the celebrations for the winning
Independiente football club in Buenos Aires. Rabid fans jammed the
streets at the center of Av 9 de julio, with drivers waving flags,
honking (a lot) and screaming from their cars as well. All in
celebration of course.
Yesterday, November 27th 2010, marked the one year anniversary of my
current travel journey. I didn't have the motivation to write about it
like I did my 6 month anniversary but hopefully in the coming days I can put words-to-screen and share.
As the winner of the first ever Travel Photography Roulette,
I was planning to announce that there would be no other Travel
Photography Roulette competitions so I can retire as the one and only
champion! Alas, the torch must be passed and the show must go on!
While the first competition was "Animals," this week we're going with one of my favorite travel finds: Road Signs! Nothing says too funny
like a "Penguins X-ing" sign, especially when they mean it. I know
you've all been holding back your quirky signs so people don't think
your travel blog is too low brow, but now is your time to shine! I'll
be choosing my favorite road sign of all the submissions received for
one week, with the contest ending on November 24th.
From the first time I arrived in Sweden and saw they had a gigantic candy warehouse beside a big Ikea store, I knew I would be in for an interesting stay.
Sweden is a country that like rules, cheese, licorice, fancy cup holders in their cars, and "Days of the Year."
I present you with a couple of "Days" for your consideration.
Group of strangers. Dingy club. Pouring rain outside. Hundreds brought together for an evening to share an experience.
Nearly 2 months ago in Berlin, I finally saw a band that I had waited 15 years to see. This week I had a chance to see Underworld again, and spent the better part of a day traveling over 1000km by bus, train, plane (even walking) to make it happen...
This cryptic message posted on a
community bulletin board supermarket in Trollhattan, Sweden could at
first be mistaken for a ransom letter, or a bomb threat. In this case
though, it's a poorly spelled threat to all homeowners that no candy
will not be tolerated.
Lake Pukaki is
a glacial lake in the South Island of New Zealand. The deep blue
skies, amazing clouds, and beautiful blue of lake makes for a pretty
easy photo.
